Hon. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Delta South Senatorial District in the upcoming 2023 General Elections, has congratulated all girl children locally and globally as the world observes International Day Of The Girl Child.

This was contained in a congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Delta State tailored to empathize with the girl child on this unique day designated to increase awareness of problems affecting them.

The APC candidate for the Delta South Senatorial District emphasised the importance of the holiday while stating that there was no denying the role that girls continue to play in society’s development and growth because girls of today will eventually grow up to be wonderful mothers in the future.

According to Hon. Joel-Onowakpo, “Today marks International Day of the Girl Child.” It is a day set aside by the United Nations to celebrate the girl child, raising awareness and highlighting the importance of the girl child in the world.

“Every girl child is worthy to be celebrated locally and internationally. Our girl’s child today is our mother’s tomorrow. God has destined the girl child, our mothers of today to perform quality roles in humanity and the behavioral development of our children.”

“As a politician, women have continued to play significant roles in voting, child-bearing, and home development.”

“We must promote girl education, health, and nutrition.” We must not allow the girl’s child to experience gender inequality, female infanticide, discrimination, sexual abuse, violence, etc.

“To train a girl child is to train a nation.” We must empower, protect, and amplify the voices of the girl’s child today.

“To every girl child in Delta South Senatorial District, I celebrate you greatly.”

Joel-Onowakpo also took advantage of the occasion to thank his numerous supporters for sticking by him and to implore them to keep on winning over new adherents to his political cause in order to boost his and his party’s supporter base.

He expressed confidence in the capacity of his party to take Delta State’s governorship and other elective offices in 2023.
