The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has launched the registration portal for Phase Two of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI), a Federal Government-backed programme aimed at tackling youth unemployment and equipping Nigerians with relevant, state-specific skills.
The Director-General of the NDE, Mr. Silas Agara, who announced the opening of the portal at a press briefing in Abuja, said the second phase of the initiative will be entirely digital, with upgraded infrastructure deployed across all 37 states, including the FCT.
Agara noted that eligible Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 45 are encouraged to register online using their National Identification Number (NIN), which is a mandatory requirement. He also clarified that eligibility will be based on state of residence, not origin.
According to the NDE boss, beneficiaries of the second phase will undergo training in over 30 vocational and digital skills tailored to local economic realities in each state. He also revealed that the registration portal will remain open for two weeks, from Monday, July 28, 2025, to Monday, August 11, 2025 and that application processing is scheduled to take place from August 12 to August 22.
Agara, who further warned members of the public to beware of fraudsters posing as NDE officials, stressed that no financial payment is required to participate in the programme. He urged citizens to verify information only through official NDE offices.

He also appealed to the media to help raise public awareness about the correct registration procedure and to report any fraudulent schemes that may arise during the process.
According to the DG, “There will be no extension of the registration date. Two weeks is exactly two weeks. Like I said, the process will be strictly online via our network here at the headquarters. All the States and zonal offices have been linked up. So whatever they are doing there in the state offices will be viewed here at the headquarters. Nobody will be allowed to import any name into the system. So it is only those that have applied within the stipulated time that shall be processed and considered.”
“I want to plead with the members of the press to help us educate the public. Because even before we opened this website, we saw and noticed scammers are already out there deceiving members of the public.
Some are asking for financial gratification and different kinds of requirements that are not what we in NDE require from participants.”
“We want to plead with the general public to be watchful. No staff of NDE will ask for any gratification from any members of the public. We have not commissioned anybody in any capacity to act on behalf of NDE. Solely, it is the responsibility of NDE Headquarters and state offices to manage this programme. Where any member of the public is confused about any information, such a person should contact our Headquarters, zonal or state offices for clarification. We have job centres in all 37 states of the Federation including FCT.”
