A final-year Mathematics Education student at the University of Uyo, Mfoniso Solomon has said that the 2026 Akwa Ibom Career Clinic has exposed her to emerging opportunities in technology, artificial intelligence, and remote work, while helping her overcome long-standing confidence hurdles.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event—organised by Jobberman in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation—Solomon noted that the training broadened her understanding of the tech space, inspired her to leverage social media productively, and provided much-needed direction despite past struggles with limited mentorship.
Mfoniso said she plans to utilise the Akwa Ibom Employment Portal to further her career ambitions.
Similarly, Richard Pedro, a Geo-Informatics student, highlighted the clinic’s impact on his approach to CV building, interview preparation, and digital upskilling.
”The transition from analogue to digital platforms requires young people to constantly update their knowledge to stay relevant,” Pedro said, urging his peers to take advantage of Jobberman’s online learning modules.
The initiative reflects a broader effort to equip young Nigerians for an evolving labor market.

Olamide Adeyeye, Jobberman’s Country Head of Programmes, urged participants to adopt the “ABC” career framework—Audit, Build, and Consolidate—to systematically audit their mindsets, build core competencies, and consolidate progress through networking.
Delivering the keynote address, “Blueprint for Success: Building Skills for the Future of Work,” Monica Inyang challenged attendees to take control of their career trajectories. “Your future is not waiting for you; you create it,” she said, emphasising that while technical skills open doors, character, reliability, and continuous learning keep them open.
Representing Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, the Commissioner for Labour and Manpower Planning, Ikoedem Ekong, stated that the clinic aligns with the state’s ARISE Agenda.
He cited ongoing state projects—including ARISE ICT hubs, Youth Centres across all 31 local government areas, and strict enforcement of local content employment quotas—designed to curb youth unemployment.
The career clinic offered practical sessions on CV writing, workplace readiness, professional confidence, and digital literacy, alongside networking and career counseling.
