In a strong endorsement of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Federal Capital Territory Chapter, Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Zephaniah Jisalo, has lauded the institute’s unwavering commitment to promoting transparency, ethical communication, and inclusive national development.

Speaking during a recent courtesy visit from the NIPR FCT leadership team, he highlighted the vital role the institute plays in fostering good governance and enhancing public trust. “Over the past 35 years, the NIPR FCT Chapter has consistently demonstrated professionalism and dedication, which are essential to shaping Nigeria’s public discourse and advancing nation-building efforts,” he said.

The minister praised the Chapter’s thematic focus on “Leadership for Inclusive Development and Nation Branding,” highlighting it as timely and relevant in today’s complex communication environment. He remarked, “Effective public relations is a cornerstone of modern governance. The NIPR FCT continues to set high standards in ethical communication, helping to build bridges between government, private sector, and citizens.”

During the hour-long meeting with Chairman Stanley Ogadigo and the Anniversary Planning Committee, discussions covered the influential role of communication in national progress and the importance of strengthened partnerships between government agencies and professional bodies like NIPR.

Jisalo noted the Chapter’s consistent contributions, calling the institute a key partner in promoting accountability and good governance. “The sustained efforts by NIPR FCT in advocating transparency and public engagement are witness to their pivotal role in Nigeria’s democratic development,” he added.

Confirming his personal attendance at the anniversary conference and gala dinner scheduled for Thursday, November 27, the minister expressed excitement to join prominent government officials, corporate leaders, and communication experts as they honour individuals and organisations that have shaped the FCT’s growth.

The 35th anniversary celebration promises to be a significant event with impactful discussions on future directions for public relations and the Chapter’s pledges to continue meaningful corporate social responsibility initiatives in the nation’s capital.
