Jigawa State Police Command has arrested over 152 suspected kidnappers, armed robbers and vandals. Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Dahiru, said: “We have tackled criminals and the state is calm and peaceful.
“The ‘ember’ months will be too hot for hoodlums to operate. I have visited tactical team operatives. The command will continue to demonstrate resilience, innovation and professionalism in safeguarding the lives and properties of the citizens.
“Detectives from the State Intelligence Department (SID), Dutse arrested a kidnapping kingpin and other four gang members. They have been terrorising residents of Sumalia LG in Kano State, while the victims were kept at Baranda village, Dutse LG. We recovered N8million and one motorcycle valued at N1million as ransom before the release of the victim.
“Operatives at Maram-Madiri Division arrested two suspects for theft on Sharar-Nguru Road. A safe box containing a huge amount of money, two power banks, one POS terminal, 30 different handsets and one blue-tooth were recovered.

“Acting on intelligence, police raided a black spot at railway station in Mallam-Madori and arrested three suspected armed robbers. A safe box containing N870,000 was recovered.
“Anti-Kidnapping operatives attached to Ringim Division arrested two suspected kidnappers who confessed to be members of a gang operating within Kano, Jigawa and Bauchi states. We recovered three pairs of Army camouflage uniforms from them.
“Police arrested 50 suspects and recovered hard drugs from them in Dutse, including 3,907 pieces of excol tablets, 11, 742 pieces of D. 5 tablets, 395 pieces of tramadol tablets, 861 large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 288 pieces of rubber solution, 1,121 pieces of Diazepam tablets, 40 pieces of lara capsules.”
