Jigawa guber: Gov Badaru declared winner as APC sweeps Assembly seats

All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Alhaji Muhammed, Badaru Abubakar, has won the state governorship election by scoring 810,933 to beat his closest opponent of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mallam Aminu, Ibrahim Ringim who polled 288,356 votes.

The result was announced by Prof. Azubukwe Sunny Nwankwo at 5.30 pm; he is the Provost of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna‎ who served as the governorship returning officer in the state.

The APC also clinched all 30 seats in the Jigawa State Assembly.

Badaru won in all the 27 local government areas, scoring more votes in each of them than his opponents.
