Jigawa govt suspends Special Duties Commissioner caught with housewife

The Jigawa State governor, Malam Umar Namadi has suspended the Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwalu Sankara, pending an investigation into allegations leveled against him by the Kano State Hisbah.

The Kano State Hisbah Board had claimed that it arrested Sankara in an uncompleted building with a married woman.

Consequently, the Jigawa State government constituted a committee to investigate Sankara over the allegation.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Bala Ibrahim.

Ibrahim in the statement admitted the allegations had led to a significant embarrassment and degradation to the reputation of the state government.

The committee is to be chaired by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim.

Other members of the Committee are: the Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture; the Commissioner for Basic Education, Hon Lawal Yunusa Danzomo, the Special Adviser Security Matters and the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, to serve as the Secretary to the Committee.

The Committee has two weeks to submit its report.
