The launch of the G700, a high-performance, full-size plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV designed to defy difficult off-road challenges, had the basic trappings of the world premiere of a new vehicle.

The atmosphere at the new Jetour showroom in Victoria Island, was impressive: A well laid-out stage; an array of colorful spotlights illuminating the G700 still draped in a dark silken material; music booming from high quality speakers; and an audience of very important guests.

The guests were mainly Chief Executive Officers of corporate organisations) as well auto enthusiasts, who had come to see a new full size SUV for which stock has not only been sold out, but pre-ordered up to June, 2026.

The unveiling proper was spectacular. A traditional dance troupe of young ladies and men who had earlier on earned a few rounds of applause on stage for their mild ‘Atilogwu’ stunts, gently grabbed the edge of the silk covering the vehicle and whisked it away in a single, fluid motion.

What emerged when the veil was removed was a silver grey Jetour G700 designed with a bold, rugged, and commanding aesthetic appeal which got the appreciative applauding ceaselessly.

Just before the unveiling, visiting Vice President of Jetour International, Mr. Andy Yuan, and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of W Motors, Mr. Wadih Nasrallah, had exchanged copies of the distributorship agreement.

Not a few guests at the event thumbed up for Jetour and W Motors when it was announced that G700 would be backed by a solid after-sales support, featuring an industry-first seven (7) years warranty with unlimited mileage.

And, on the G700 battery specifically, the warranty is eight (8) years or 160,000 kilometres

Hitherto, the best warranty by any brand in the Nigerian market was six years of 100,000 kilometres by another Chinese automaker’s local distributor

Earlier before the unveiling, the CEO of W Motors had in his welcome remarks, described the new kid on the block as a luxury SUV blending modern luxury with impressive off-road capabilities.

“The Jetour G700 is that vision brought to life — strong, intelligent, refined, and built for leaders,” Nasrallah stated, even as he disclosed that the vehicle is blazing a trail of success in the Nigerian market which other Jetour models his company would be introducing later, are expected to follow.

In what was seen by guests at the G700 launch as an indication of total support for W Motors, the Jetour International Vice President said the automaker was on a mission to bring Jetour closer to users here in Nigeria through the authorised distributor.

Yuan further declared, “Following our ‘In Somewhere, For Somewhere’ philosophy, we’re here to listen, create, and serve locally. Together with our partner, we’re bringing local customers the best products, the best experience, and a smarter, more exciting way to move, implement the idea of “In Nigeria, For Nigeria”.

The Jetour G700 unveiling was attended by an exclusive mix of captains of Industry, some celebrities, media, industry insiders, and high profile clientele.
