Constituents of Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State have more cause to rejoice following the completion of six new classroom blocks in five schools and the inauguration of the Busangfong-Ikom road project by Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe Representing Cross River North.

To enhance teaching, staff rooms were also constructed alongside the six classroom blocks in each of the five schools including modern toilets.

Jarigbe who chairs the Senate Committee on Gas stated that the projects which were flagged off on the 6th of July 2024 will create a better learning environment for the students which will undoubtedly improve their academic performance.

Speaking through his Constituency Officer, Egar Mgbantul who led a team to inspect the projects on Monday, Jarigbe expressed optimism that aside from the educational impact, the projects are also expected to have a positive impact on the local communities through the creation of Jobs and the stimulation of economic growth.

The new schools are; Government Primary School, Bukemanya-Bisu Ward; Blukonu Migrant School Bebi, St. Peter’s Primary School Bendigie, Bendi 1; Government Primary School, Belinge-Becheve Ward and Government Primary School Bishiri-North.

“This is a testament to the Senator’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure in Cross River North Senatorial District”, Edgar stated.

In a related development, the lawmaker flagged off the Busangfong-Ikom road project in the same Obanliku Local Government.

At the ceremony, Constituency Officer Egar Mgbantul, representing the Senator, emphasized that the project fulfils the lawmaker’s commitment to enhancing living conditions through infrastructural development.

He hailed Busangfong constituents for their patience.

“I thank you for your patience, support, and cooperation and the project aims to facilitate easy access to major markets in Cross River North and Central Senatorial Districts.”

Gathered at the Job site were the Contractor who had already mobilised heavy-duty construction equipment, the Clan Head of Bisu 1, HRM Chief Gabriel Adachi and Hundreds of Constituents to witness the flag-off.

The traditional ruler thanked Jarigbe for empowering communities and constituents. He assured the lawmaker of continued support.

“For a very long time, the community of Busangfong have been in darkness for the fact that we don’t have an access road. But today is a history-making day, to start a new life in this community.

“We thank God for choosing Senator Jarigbe to come and salvage this community and we pray for more blessings on the distinguished Senator which Gif has used to bring new life to the community of Busangfong.

Immediately after the inauguration, the contractor commenced work swiftly beginning with the earthworks by the grader.

Other dignitaries in attendance include; Hon. (Chief) Pius Ashakia, Hon. Justin Adida, Adie Emmanuel Ishiekwen, Esther Esang and Anthony Jombo, amongst others.
