The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the restoration of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) after a temporary disruption.
In a statement issued on Monday, the board said CAPS had been fully restored and was now operational, urging tertiary institutions to accelerate their admission processes to make up for time lost during the disruption.
“With CAPS back online, institutions are urged to accelerate their admission processes to recover lost time and meet the agreed admission deadlines,” JAMB said.
The board also advised candidates who have received admission offers to promptly accept them through the appropriate process.
JAMB said public universities have until October 31, 2026, to conclude their admission exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Private universities, according to the board, have until November 30, 2026, while other tertiary institutions are expected to complete their admission processes by December 31, 2026.
The board also called on candidates who had previously been awaiting their examination results to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination results.
JAMB said the update was necessary to ensure that candidates’ credentials were available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission activities.
“Following the release of the 2026 NECO SSCE results, candidates who previously awaited their results are advised to upload and/or verify them promptly to ensure their credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes,” the board stated.
JAMB expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding.
The board urged all stakeholders to take advantage of the restoration of CAPS and proceed with the 2026/2027 admission exercise within the approved timelines.
