The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new arrangement allowing candidates to upload their Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) O’Level results from the comfort of their homes, eliminating the need for unnecessary visits to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.
The initiative which began with the verification of results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), enables JAMB to verify candidates’ results directly with the relevant examination bodies before such results are uploaded to their profiles.
The Board, in a statement signed by its Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said the initiative was part of its renewed commitment to making its services easier, faster, safer and more convenient for candidates.
He said the new system leverages technology to reduce queues, manual processes and the pressure on CBT centres, particularly during periods of high patronage and network challenges.
The Board said the arrangement would also address some of the challenges associated with manual o’level result uploads, including misplaced or mixed-up paper results, presentation of unverified or fraudulent certificates, as well as errors in the manual entry of subjects and grades.
It explained that through the integration of its e-facility platform with examination bodies, candidates’ results could now be verified directly against the records of the issuing examination bodies before being downloaded into their JAMB profiles.
Under the new arrangement, candidates are required to first verify their results by visiting buyresultsverificationcode.ng. “Candidates are to enter their National Identification Number (NIN) and click on ‘Verify NIN’, after which they will select the number of sittings and the appropriate examination body or bodies before proceeding with payment using a debit card or bank transfer.
Following successful payment, candidates are required to provide their examination number, examination series and examination year to verify their results and obtain a Verification Code.
At the second stage, candidates are to send “VERIFY (Verification Code}” to 55019 or 66019, after which the verified result will be uploaded and a notification sent to the candidate.
Candidates with two sittings will subsequently be required to log into their JAMB e-facility profile and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload” on their dashboard.
They will then enter their Verification Code, after which their two verified results will be displayed. Candidates are required to select the relevant subjects, with a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects, ensuring that no subject is selected more than once.
The process is completed by clicking “Apply the O’Level Results”, following which a notification confirming successful submission will be sent to the candidate.
JAMB said the verification service would provide candidates with a convenient alternative to the traditional manual upload process, especially at a time when CBT centres experience increased patronage and network-related challenges.
The Board said the initiative reflected the commitment of its Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, to building a more customer-oriented and technology-driven service delivery system.
It added that it would continue to deploy technology and collaborate with relevant examination and government agencies to simplify its services and make them safer and more accessible to candidates.
