The Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has been recognised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for its commitment to expanding access to university education for blind candidates.

The recognition came during the National Engagement on Inclusive Higher Education and Artificial Intelligence, where the university received the National Engagement on Inclusive Higher Education and Artificial Intelligence Certificate.

The certificate was presented in acknowledgement of UNIZIK’s admission of one of the highest numbers of blind candidates among Nigerian higher institutions, reflecting the university’s determination to ensure that visual impairment is not a barrier to accessing quality university education.

The recognition adds to the growing list of milestones recorded under the administration of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, whose leadership continues to strengthen the university’s national standing through policies that promote academic excellence, inclusion, and wider access to higher education.
