Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new arrangement allowing candidates to upload their Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) O’Level results from home, ending the need for physical visits to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for the exercise.
The initiative, which commenced with the verification of results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), enables JAMB to verify candidates’ results directly with examination bodies before uploading them to their profiles.
The Board, in a statement by its Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, said the new system was designed to make the process faster, safer and more convenient while reducing pressure on CBT centres.
According to JAMB, the technology-driven arrangement will also eliminate some of the problems associated with manual O’Level result uploads, including misplaced or mixed-up certificates, presentation of unverified or fraudulent results and errors in entering subjects and grades.
The Board explained that its e-facility platform had been integrated with examination bodies to enable direct verification of candidates’ results against the records of the issuing institutions before the results are downloaded into their JAMB profiles.
Under the new arrangement, candidates are required to first obtain a result verification code through buyresultsverificationcode.ng.
Candidates are to enter their National Identification Number (NIN), click on “Verify NIN”, select the number of sittings and the relevant examination body or bodies, and proceed with payment by debit card or bank transfer.
After payment, candidates are required to provide their examination number, examination series and examination year to verify their results and obtain a Verification Code.

JAMB said candidates would then send “VERIFY (Verification Code)” to 55019 or 66019, after which the verified result would be uploaded and a notification sent to the candidate.
For candidates with two sittings, the Board said they would subsequently log into their JAMB e-facility profile and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload” on their dashboard.
They would then enter their Verification Code, after which the two verified results would be displayed.
Candidates are required to select the relevant subjects, with a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects, while ensuring that no subject is selected more than once.
The process is completed by clicking “Apply the O’Level Results,” after which a notification confirming successful submission would be sent to the candidate.
JAMB said the new verification system would particularly ease pressure on CBT centres during periods of high patronage and network congestion.
The Board said the initiative was part of the commitment of its Registrar, Prof Segun Aina, to providing more customer-oriented and technology-driven services.
It added that it would continue to deploy technology and collaborate with examination and government agencies to simplify its processes and make them more secure and accessible to candidates.
