An entrepreneur, Dr Kingsley Ifeanyi Adonu, has congratulated Nigerian youths on the occasion of the 2026 International Youth Day, urging them to remain focused on personal development and contribute positively to the growth and development of the nation.
Adonu made the call in a press statement released on Wednesday, August 12, to commemorate International Youth Day (IYD).
Describing Nigerian youths as a critical force in shaping the future of the country, he noted that their energy, creativity and capacity for innovation could be harnessed to drive meaningful economic and social transformation.
Adonu, who is the Chairman of S.Mobile Group, however, cautioned young Nigerians against cultism, drug abuse, internet fraud and other social vices capable of destroying their future and undermining their contributions to society.
According to him, “Youths should resist negative peer pressure and instead pursue opportunities that would equip them with the knowledge, skills and experience required to succeed in an increasingly competitive world.”
Adonu particularly encouraged young Nigerians to leverage technology as a tool for self-development, entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
He said: “The rapid growth of the digital economy presents numerous opportunities for young people to acquire skills, create businesses, connect with markets and build sustainable sources of income.”
He also announced that the company is preparing for the launch of the S.Mobile Agent App, a digital platform developed to facilitate airtime, internet subscriptions and bill payments while providing benefits to users.
He explained that “the app is designed to create additional opportunities for users and agents within the digital services ecosystem, while making everyday transactions more convenient.”
Adonu expressed optimism that the app would contribute to the empowerment of young Nigerians by providing them with a platform through which they can participate in the digital economy and potentially earn incentives from their activities on the platform.
He called on “Nigerian youths to take advantage of emerging technological opportunities rather than allowing themselves to be distracted by activities that could jeopardise their future.”
He further urged young people to cultivate discipline, acquire relevant skills and remain committed to legitimate means of achieving their ambitions.
“As we celebrate International Youth Day, I urge Nigerian youths to believe in themselves, embrace technology and continuously invest in their personal development. The future belongs to those who prepare for it today,” Adonu said.
He reiterated S.Mobile Group’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote youth empowerment, technological advancement and economic inclusion, while wishing Nigerian youths a productive and inspiring International Youth Day celebration.
