Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe said he has enjoyed “more peace” in Spain since moving there.
The 27-year-old France captain, who spent seven years at Paris Saint-Germain, spoke in a recent extensive interview with Diario AS.
Mbappe joined Real Madrid in June 2024 after refusing to extend his PSG contract.
He has netted 94 times and provided 14 assists in 110 matches since joining the Spanish capital club.
He has also got off to a blistering start to the new season, recording eight goals and two assists in just seven matches.
Speaking about his time with Madrid so far, Mbappe said, “I believe that if you want to be part of football history, you have to play for Real Madrid.”
Mbappe described playing for Madrid as a “privilege”, noting that “when you become a Real Madrid player, you reach a different level, a higher level.”
While stating he has found ‘more peace’ since joining, he added, “I wanted to get to know a new culture and adapt quickly to Spanish culture. Of course I still have to get used to it a bit, but I think it gets better every day.
“I have never had a moment here when I felt unhappy. Only at the beginning, when I did not have a home of my own. If you do not have your own place, you feel strange. You always long to go home, to be with your family. As soon as I had my own place, I was always happy in Madrid and in Spain.”
