As TikTok continues to influence how new music reaches listeners, Nigerian content creator and singer Etieno Ime Martin, popularly known as Ivana or Ivana Wahala, is among a growing number of entertainers using the platform to introduce their work to wider audiences.

The 22-year-old, who began posting content in 2024, has gained attention through hype songs, music freestyles and short-form performances that have attracted increasing engagement on TikTok and other social media platforms.

Among the songs associated with her growing popularity is “Wahala,” a track that has been used by TikTok users in a variety of videos, contributing to its visibility on the platform. The song has helped introduce her music to audiences beyond her existing followers, adding to her growing online presence.

Unlike many artists who first gained recognition through traditional music releases, Ivana built her audience by consistently sharing short performances and original interpretations of songs on social media. Her content combines music with energetic delivery, a style that has become central to her identity as a performer.

“I’ve always loved entertaining people and making them happy. That’s what inspired me to start creating content,” she said.

Her online growth has also created opportunities beyond social media. Ivana has performed during Davido’s 5ive Alive Tour and has collaborated with creators including Peller, Purple Speedy and Jadrolita, appearances that introduced her to new audiences.

Born and raised in Akwa Ibom State, Ivana has often described her childhood as supportive and says she believed from an early age that she would one day work in entertainment.

Although details of any formal record label affiliation have not been made public, she has continued to build her audience independently through regular content and music releases. Her growing following reflects the increasing role platforms such as TikTok play in helping emerging entertainers connect directly with listeners.

As more Nigerian musicians and creators turn to short-form video platforms to promote their work, Ivana’s journey illustrates how social media has become an important avenue for discovering new talent and expanding audiences beyond conventional promotional channels.
