Real Sociedad manager, Sergio Francisco has praised Barcelona winger, Lamine Yamal, who came off the bench to assist the winning goal.

Hansi Flick’s side claimed a 2-1 victory at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Sunday to top the La Liga table after match day 7.

Real Sociedad took the lead in the 31st minute with a goal from Álvaro Odriozola, assisted by Ander Barrenetxea.

Barcelona equalised just before halftime through a powerful Jules Koundé header.

Robert Lewandowski scored the winning goal for Barcelona in the 59th minute off a Yamal assist.

Yamal, who finished second in the Ballon D’Or but won his second Kopa Trophy for Young Men’s Player of the Year Award, had missed four games prior due to a groin injury.

Speaking after the game, Francisco said, “Lamine [Yamal]’s presence on the pitch alone is a threat. It is so difficult to stop him, even bringing on fresh players from the bench to defend him.

“It’s great to watch him play. He showed again that he is most likely the best in the world. His introduction off the bench decided the game.”
