No fewer than 200 women who are mostly indigent have been empowered by an Islamic organization known as Ahmad-Shaqqiy Da’wah Foundation.
At the event held in Inisha, Odootin Local Government Area of Osun State, the beneficiaries were given cash and other valuables worth thousands of naira.
Speaking on the occasion, a prominent traditional ruler in the state, the Olororuwo of Ororuwo, Oba Qumarudeen Adeyemi, lamented the current economic situation in the country and called on Nigerians to seek the face of God for divine intervention, saying that the solution to the economic situation of the country rests in the hands of God.
The monarch noted that many Nigerians no longer worship God but worship money, adding that the inability of many Nigerians to fear God in their deeds led to the current economic challenges in the country.
Oba Adeyemi, therefore, urged Nigerians to return to God in their search for a solution to the nation’s current socioeconomic challenges.
The founder of the Ahmad Shaqqiy Dawah Foundation, Alhaji Abdul-Razaq Ahmad (Shaqqiy), said the initiative aimed at putting smile on the faces of the down trodden at the grassroots. He said the foundation was organized to cater for the needs of the poor, especially the widows and orphans in the society.
