The 25-year-old’s much-anticipated transfer to the Reds was confirmed on Monday, making the ex-Magpies forward the most expensive player in British football history and the third priciest in world football.
The official confirmation of the move came after the 7pm deadline as Isak finished his medical and media obligations before jetting off for international duty with Sweden. Already one of Newcastle’s top earners, reportedly pocketing £120,000 a week, Isak has seen a significant pay rise at his new club.
