The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has called for synergy among all the security agencies in the country.
This, the police said, will assist in curbing the menace of insecurity in the country.
The FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, gave the charge while hosting Yoruba Nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, at the command’s headquarters in Abuja.
He urged the management of Iru Ekun Security Network to sustain healthy collaboration with all security agencies in the discharge of their duties.
He said mutual working relationship with the Police, Nigerian Armed Forces, Department of State Services (DSS) and other paramilitary agencies is critical to community policing and effectiveness of local security initiatives in tackling criminality in Nigeria.
A statement by Igboho’s media office quoted the Police Commissioner as lauding the Iru Ekun Security outfit, just as he emphasised the need for the security outfit to always notify relevant security agencies, most especially the divisional police authorities within their jurisdictions on crime prevention and detection before any actionable activity.

He described the meeting as part of collaborative efforts with the Police to combat crimes, promote peace and tranquillity in the country.
The statement, however, quoted the founder of Iru Ekun Security Network and Yoruba Nation agitator, Igboho, as having commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Tunji Disu, over his support for the outfit.
The statement reads, “The meeting with FCT CP, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, is part of our commitment to work with the Police and also show gratitude for their major support, which was responsible for the success we have recorded in reducing rampant cases of abduction, banditry and farmer-herder clashes.
“We are always ready to partner relevant stakeholders in the security sector in further driving peace, protecting communities against hoodlums and other criminals posing a threat to our people, most especially law-abiding Nigerians in the South-West.
“The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, IGP Tunji Disu, the Director-General of the DSS, Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, and other heads of security agencies have all been supportive and instrumental to our operational achievements. We will continue to leverage this healthy collaboration for the overall interest of Nigeria.”
The FCT coordinator of Iru Ekun, Segun Olufadeju, during the meeting with Sanusi promised to always inform and engage the Police in the FCT regarding their activities.
