The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has announced the commencement of applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme, giving qualified Nigerians the chance to pursue fully funded Master’s degree programmes at leading universities in Ireland.
In a statement shared on its official X account on Friday, the embassy said applications will officially open on June 29, 2026, for early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana.
According to the embassy, the fellowship offers successful applicants the opportunity to undertake a one-year postgraduate programme in Ireland with all major study-related expenses covered.
“Applications for the Ireland Fellows Programme opens on 29 June 2026! Apply for the opportunity to study in Ireland on a fully funded master’s scholarship,” the embassy stated.

It added that prospective applicants can obtain detailed information on eligibility requirements and the application process through the official Ireland Fellows Programme portal.
To qualify, applicants must be citizens and residents of either Nigeria or Ghana, possess at least a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower division, and have no fewer than three years of relevant professional experience.
For Nigerian candidates, the programme also features the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, which supports postgraduate studies in Law, Human Rights and Governance.
Successful applicants will benefit from a comprehensive funding package that covers tuition fees, monthly living allowances, accommodation support, visa and airfare costs, as well as health insurance throughout the duration of the programme.
The embassy said the application window will run from June 29 to July 26, 2026, and encouraged interested candidates to submit their applications through the official Ireland Fellows Programme website (https://irelandfellows.africa/) before the deadline.
