Iran has warned it will unleash a massive retaliatory response if its civilian infrastructure is targeted, amid rising tensions with the United States.

The warning was issued by Iran’s central military command, which said any repeat attacks on civilian sites would trigger a “more devastating and widespread” offensive.

“If attacks on civilian targets are repeated, the next stages of our offensive and retaliatory operations will be much more devastating and widespread,” a spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said in a statement posted by state broadcaster IRIB on Telegram.

The threat follows remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, who warned that Iran’s critical infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, could be destroyed if Tehran fails to comply with demands to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian officials said such actions would cross a red line, vowing to escalate strikes not only in response but across broader regional targets, including economic and strategic infrastructure.
