According to the Tehran Times, a state-controlled local news outlet, the Iranian FA’s spokesperson, Amirmahdi Alavai, confirmed the match on Tuesday.

The venue and time for the match are yet to be decided.

Iran will play another friendly match as the team prepares for the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the US, Mexico and Canada.

The Iranian men’s national team will face Costa Rica on March 30.

Iran are drawn in Group G of the World Cup against Belgium, Egypt and New Zealand.
