Coalition of different political parties under the aegis of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) on Friday passed a vote of confidence on the chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Kelvin Ezenyili.
Chairman of IPAC in the state, Emeka Bidokwu while passing the vote of confidence at the council secretariat in Asaba, said Ezenyili has restored peace and normalcy to the council since he assumed office in March, 2021.
Bidokwu spoke shortly after a guided tour of the completed ultra modern legislative complex which was executed by the Ezenyili administration.
He lauded the council boss for his development initiatives, saying that IPAC which comprises of different political parties would continue support Oshimili South council.
Commissioner for Information in the state, Charles Aniagwu who was also at the council secretariat, commended Ezenyili for the successes recorded in the last two years.
The spokesman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council noted that Ezenyili’s achievements was an indication of what councils could do if adequately empowered through devolution of power which he said, is one of the major plans of PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, if elected.
Aniagwu described the ultra modern legislative complex as a befitting work environment, adding that it has complemented the urban renewal drive of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa-led administration.
Urging Ezenyili not to rest on his oars in delivering democracy dividends to residents of Oshimili South, Aniagwu encouraged other council chairmen to double their efforts in transforming their respective localities.
The council chairman had highlighted his achievements in the past two years in areas of infrastructure, empowerment, security, sanitation, welfare, economy among others.
Ezenyili disclosed that the council has an automated system for local government identification process, explaining that the process has made it possible for indigenes to access identification letters from anywhere in the world without having to travel long distances.
Thanking workers and other public servants in the council, Ezenyili assured residents that the developmental plan of his administration would cut across the entire locality and all spheres of life.
