Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has called on Ezza people residing outside the shores of Nigeria under the aegis of Ezza Ezekuna in Diaspora Organisation (EEIDO) to bring home their wealth of experiences and ingenuities to develop the state to support his administration.
Nwifuru, represented by the state Commissioner for Special Duties and Ebonyi State Diaspora Desk Officer, Valentine Okike, made the call in a zoom meeting he held with the group at the weekend.
The zoom interactive meeting, which attracted sons and daughters of Ezza Ezekuna living in countries across the continents of the world, was aimed at intimating the Ezzas outside Nigeria on the programmes and policies of the Governor, in order for them to lend their voices for the development of the state.
He described Nwifuru as a man on a mission to salvage Ebonyi people and expressed happiness that the Ezza clan was giving the Governor their support.
Okike, who pledged that the Governor would always be open to Ezza people in the Diaspora, enumerated the achievements of the Governor to include empowerment, employment, infrastructural development, inclusion of the people in the governance of the state, among others.
He regretted that Ebonyi was yet to have industries even though the state has enough raw materials and called on members of Ezza Ezekuna in the Diaspora Organisation to invest in the state as there are policies that protect investors.
President General of Ezza Ezekuna in Diaspora Organisation in the United Kingdom, Chief Chukwuma Anyigor, on behalf of the group, appreciated Governor Nwifuru for his governance in the state and assured that the organisation would stop at nothing to support the Governor even as they look forward to having face to face interaction with him.
