Inter-Female Soccer Challenge: Ago Igbala Egan 5 Parish wins tourney

Ago Igbala Oluwatedo Egan 5 Parish has won Season 5 of the Inter-female Soccer Challenge with a 2-1 victory over Area L Zone 5 Ikorodu Parish.

Organised by the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) and sponsored by the Remilekun Odutayo Foundation, the free-age football event was concluded at the Ronik Comprehensive School Pitch in Ikotun, Lagos State.

Female teams from 10 Parishes, Ago Igbala Egan 5 Igando, Trinity Parish  Sango, Oju Ore Parish 1 Sango, Gods Own Parish Ejigbo, Afanda Parish Mushin, Christ Gracious  Parish Ogun and Hossanah Parish Mile 2.

Ikenne Parish 1, Ogun and Area L.Zone 5, Ikorodu, took part in the event.

Ago Igbala Egan 5 Parish carted home the top prize of N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira), along with a trophy, medals, and a set of jerseys. Area L.Zone 5, got jerseys, medals and also smiled home with N50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira).

Odey Success of CCC Area L Zone 5 Ikorodu was named the MVP, Shoneye Oluwaferanmi of Ago Igbala Egan 5 Parish scooped the best goalkeeper award, while her teammate Mariam Olajide got the golden shoe for being the top scorer.

Prophetess Remilekun Odutayo JP shared her insights on the championship. “This female tournament is the first of its kind in Celestial Worldwide. I believe in equality, talent development, and using sports to support those in need, reflecting the Church’s message of love and inclusivity, as evidenced by the participation of players from various faiths.

“With the conclusion of this final, we are already preparing for Season 6, which promises to be even larger by including more teams, showcasing more emerging talents, and launching the Remilekun Odutayo Foundation officially.”
