Insecurity: Every governor should secure his state

…Says Abia will be APC in 2027

Former Abia governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has called on governors across the country to secure their states to end insecurity in the country.

He said when he was governor of Abia State, he secured the state and that it was the only safest state in the country then.

Kalu stated this in Ekoli Edda, Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on Thursday in an interview with journalists during his new year visit to the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha one of his political sons.

He urged Nigerians to stop blaming President Bola Tinubu on the insecurity in the country and implored governors to tackle every security issue in their states.

He singled out Governor Francis Nwifuru as the only governor that has done well in securing lives and property of his people.

Kalu who represents Abia North said “Abia was the most secured area when I was the governor of Abia State, it was the most secured state in Nigeria.

“And when I was governor, all the states collapsed including Warri, Port-Harcourt, they collapsed, only Aba was safe. Nobody kidnapped in Aba, nobody kidnapped in Abia State because I was there and very committed to the security of our people.

“People are saying President Tinubu should do this and do that to end insecurity, no! When I was governor, I took charge of Abia. Nobody can move anywhere without securing the lives and property of our people.

“So, the governors should come back and secure their states the way it is happening in Ebonyi State. The Ebonyi State governor is securing his state. Every governor should secure his state and Nigeria will be safe”.

He vowed to deliver his party, APC to Abia State in 2027 general elections

“Aex Otti is my friend, I don’t discuss politics. I will only vote for my party APC and work for its victory in next year’s general election.

“Abia will be APC in 2027. I will work for President Tinubu and he is going to win in Abia and I will work for any governor in APC to win in Abia.

“Abia will be APC with me. I have brought my heart, I will lay my heart on the field and I will work for the APC”, Kalu stated.
