Insecurity: Delta community sends SoS to Tinubu, IGP to end killings, land-grabbing

The leadership of Ibuza Youth Council, in Oshimili Local Government Area of Delta State, has written a Save Our Soul (SOS) letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, to urgently halt the activities of the rampaging land- grabbing cult group in their community and the surrounding areas.

The President of Ibuza community, Comrade Ifeanyi Asiodu, made the desperate call on Monday in Abuja, during a world press conference, to inform the public of the level of gruesome murder and impunity in land grabbing allegedly being perpetrated by the group since 2022 to date, unabated.
Comrade Asiodu, further condemning the senseless killings of innocent land owners and forceful takeover, stressed that such human killing has never been witnessed.

While denying allegations of his involvement in the cult killings and forceful land grabbing, he said, “I would like to inform you that innocent citizens of the Ibusa community, as well as other patriotic individuals who have legally acquired land in Ibusa, are being forcibly displaced from their legitimate property by the Oshimili local government officials and other agents of darkness.

“And having said that, I make bold to call on the Inspector General of Police to direct an investigation into the several cases of murder and land grabbing perpetrated by these men.

“The IGP should also use his good office to investigate his officers who are aiding and abetting these criminal activities against the helpless people of the Ibusa community.
The IGP office should also investigate the assassination attempts on my life three times between May 2024 and October 2025, with the expectation that these criminals will be brought to book.

The IGP’s office should investigate how some men were declared wanted by the Police for murder, now seen moving around with the Chairman of Oshimili North LGA without arrest.

Comrade Ifeanyi, further exhorting himself to avoid the heinous crime, claimed to be a committed citizen of the Ibusa Community, serving it with all his strength and resources, and will never support any activity or activities that would bring reproach and harm to the community. I will also remain neutral and apolitical in all my dealings and service to my community.
