Insecurity: Abiodun lauds IGP for deploying aircraft to Ogun

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has commended the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji ‘Tunji’ Disu, for the swift deployment of an operational police aircraft to strengthen security operations across the state.

The governor had requested the deployment as part of measures to reinforce Ogun State’s security architecture and intensify the ongoing fight against criminality, kidnapping, and banditry. The request was promptly approved by the Inspector-General of Police.

Receiving the aircraft and its crew on behalf of the Ogun State Government, the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, conveyed Governor Abiodun’s appreciation to the police chief for his prompt response and unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property.

Talabi said the deployment of the aircraft would significantly improve aerial surveillance, intelligence gathering, and rapid response capabilities of security agencies, thereby complementing ongoing efforts to rid the state of criminal elements. He described the development as another demonstration of the strong partnership between the Ogun State Government and security agencies, noting that the collaboration has continued to deliver positive results in safeguarding residents and protecting critical infrastructure.

According to him, the operational aircraft will provide a major boost to Operation Kosaye, the joint security initiative designed to flush out kidnappers, bandits, and other criminal elements operating in forests, border communities, and other identified flashpoints across Ogun State.

Governor Abiodun reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing the necessary logistics and support for security agencies to effectively carry out their responsibilities, stressing that his government would continue to invest in initiatives that promote peace, enhance security, and drive sustainable economic development across the state.
