The governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, has assured that the state electorate will massively give the desired votes to President Bola Tinubu during next year’s presidential election.
He hinged his confidence on the legacy projects President Tinubu provides funds to the state government to support, stressing that the gesture will make his victory in the state very seamless.
Represented by the state Commissioner for Works, Abdulsalami Ozigi Deedat, he maintained that irrespective of the misinformation in the social media space, the people are very much in love with the President and would unanimously support his re-election bid in next year’s presidential poll.
He spoke during the inspection of projects by the National Renewed Hope Ambassadors in collaboration with the the Presidential Media Team on a tour of projects executed by both the federal and Kogi state governments.
He said that the magnitude of infrastructural development under the present administration was only made possible because of the quantum of fund the federal government has continued to release to the states.
Speaking at the Model Science Secondary School, Nagazi in Adavi Local Government Area, the Commissioner, said: “Yes, whatever you are reading on the social media, it is not in tandem with what is happening in Kogi. People of Kogi really appreciate Mr. President because we know what he is capable doing on our highway roads, on our highways rather. We know what he’s doing on Ajaokuta. We know how he’s making the resources available to our governor to give us all the benefits of democracy, as you can see by yourself.
“And the good thing is that the governor does not waste time, does not pretend to let us know that he’s getting all these resources from Mr. President, thereby enabling us to know why and how we should appreciate Mr. President.
And that’s what we are doing in Kogi, that’s why you see that in any election, APC is always winning with a very high margin.”
On the university project, he said: “When we came up with the idea of establishing universities for the state, the university that we just visited, that’s CUSTECH, that is the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, in Kogi State.
“That’s not the only state-owned university. We have three state-owned universities. That’s the Abubakar Audu University in Kogi East, the one in Osara, the one we’ve just seen, and we have a similar one in Kabba, and they are all in operation.
“So when we have such a quality university, it is not just the building that is of concern, we must also create a system where we will be able to feed the university with quality students from quality secondary schools like this. And this institution where we are today is also a symbol of what I call sincere leadership and sincere consolidation, because the idea was initiated by our former governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.”
“But when Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo came on board, because he’s an offshoot of the previous administration, he decided to take it up and take it to completion. It’s a secondary school that has all the required components.”
