INEC in Adamawa declares readiness for Saturday’s polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured the people of Adamawa State of its readiness for Saturday’s polls in the state.

While briefing press newsmen on Friday evening, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Kassim Gaidam, said as at Friday evening, all relevant elections materials had been delivered successfully to all the 21 local governments in the state including Madagali which is considered the farthest with the most difficult terrain.

Speaking at the briefing, the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Audu, said about 5,000 policemen had been deployed to various locations in the state for election duties and more security personnel had been sent to Madagali in order to forestall any breakdown of law and order in the area.
