Defeats Sen Oduah, Mrs Obiano, others

Former House of Representative Member and Medical Doctor Dr Tony Nwoye has been declared the winner of the Anambra North senatorial district by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Nwoye of the Labour Party (LP) was declared the winner by the INEC returning Officer for Anambra North, Prof. Kingsley Ubaorji of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka at Onitsha North Local Government Headquarters.
The Returning Officer, Prof Ubaorji said that Nwoye scored 94,779 votes to defeat the Senator representing the zone at the Senate, Stella Oduah of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who got 50,146 votes.
According to Ubaorji, the wife of Former Anambra State Governor, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), scored 48,212 votes to place third.
Declaring the result at the Anambra North Senatorial collation centre, INEC Returning Officer for Anambra North Senatorial Election, Prof. Kingsley Ubaorji declared and returned Former House of Representative Member, Dr Tony Nwoye Winner having satisfied the constitutionally required number of valid votes cast for the election.
The winner, Dr Nwoyem in a brief remark, thanked the good people of Anambra North for electing him as their Senator and Promised that he will never disappoint them.
He said that he will sponsor good bills, provide amenities and dividends of democracy as well ensure good representation at 10 Senate.
