The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, has proceeded on terminal leave after officially handing over to May Agbamuche, the most senior National Commissioner on Tuesday, to act pending the appointment of a substantive chairman.
Yakubu handed over during the meeting he held with Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

Pending the appointment of an acting chairman, Agbamuche will oversee the commission’s affairs.
