inDrive, a global mobility and delivery services platform, has introduced free parcel coverage of up to ₦50,000 for eligible business users of its courier service in Nigeria.
The initiative is designed to protect small business owners and entrepreneurs against financial losses arising from parcels that are lost or damaged while in transit.
Under the new arrangement, eligible inDrive.Courier business users can claim a refund for covered parcels, subject to the ₦50,000 limit and the terms of the coverage.
The company said the initiative was introduced to strengthen confidence among businesses that depend on last-mile delivery to get products to customers.
According to inDrive, users whose parcels are lost or damaged must contact Customer Support through the inDrive app within 48 hours of the parcel being picked up to initiate a claim.
Claims are typically reviewed within three to seven days, while users who provide their bank details may receive refunds within 14 days, subject to the applicable coverage limit.

Eligible business users will see a dedicated parcel coverage banner on the order form and during active deliveries.
The company said the new protection complements existing features on its courier platform, including real-time parcel tracking, courier verification and the ability to share tracking links with recipients.
Business users can also select motorcycles or cars depending on the size of their parcels, choose couriers based on their ratings, negotiate delivery fares and plan routes for deliveries involving multiple stops.
Country Manager, inDrive Nigeria, Timothy Oladimeji, said the initiative was aimed at addressing one of the concerns confronting businesses that rely on courier services.
“A lost or damaged parcel can significantly impact a small business, affecting customer relationships and revenue. Every parcel an entrepreneur sends carries a piece of their business’s reputation.
“Parcel coverage means that if something goes wrong in transit, our users are not left to absorb the loss alone. It is one more way we are building trust into every step of last-mile delivery in Nigeria,” Oladimeji stated.
inDrive also said all couriers are required to undergo identity verification, including validation of their identification through a government database and, where applicable, verification of their driver’s licence before accepting orders.
The parcel coverage is available at no additional cost to eligible inDrive.Courier business users in Nigeria.
The company said the initiative forms part of its broader effort to provide delivery and other urban services while improving security and convenience for users.
inDrive operates in 1,065 cities across 48 countries and said its app has been downloaded more than 400 million times globally.
