The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State says it is fully repositioned and ready to reclaim the state from underdevelopment and poor governance in the 2027 general elections.

In its Independence Day message to the people of the state signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Prince Mike Ojisi, the party said it is strengthening its structures from the ward to the state level to present credible and people-oriented candidates.

According to Prince Ojisi, Nigeria and Cross River State are going through challenging times of economic hardship, insecurity and infrastructural deficits, but he urged citizens to remain hopeful.

“1 October remains a significant day in the history of our dear nation. It is a day that reminds us of the sacrifices of our founding fathers who fought for our freedom, unity and sovereignty. It is also a day for sober reflection on our journey as a state and as a nation.

“As a party, we acknowledge that our country is going through very challenging times, economic hardship, insecurity, youth unemployment and infrastructural deficits.

“Cross River State is not exempt from these challenges. However, we urge all Cross Riverians to remain patriotic, peaceful and hopeful. Nigeria will be great again and Cross River State will rise again.

“Between 1999 and 2015, the PDP laid the solid foundation for the modern Cross River State through landmark projects in tourism, education, healthcare and human capital development, which made the state the envy of others.

“As we approach the 2027 general elections, the PDP is fully repositioned, united and ready to rescue and reclaim Cross River State from underdevelopment and poor governance.

“We are conducting membership verification and strengthening our structures from the ward to the state level to present credible and people-oriented candidates who will bring back prosperity to our state,” he said.

The PDP called on traditional rulers, youths, women and professionals to continue to support the party to bring back prosperity to the state.

The party also prayed for peace, unity and progress of the state and the nation.
