Indeed, sex is a leveller

From an evolutionary standpoint, sexuality is an intrinsic part of human lives. Science has proved that there are actually many physical and psychological merits that come from having sex. Sex never happens without the two people getting naked. But that does not guarantee that love exists between them. Sex could just happen because it is a leveller.

That sudden subconscious feeling that comes when sex takes place sends a strong signal of events to unfold.  It is indeed a leveller. The moment they see themselves in such a situation, be it in legal union or otherwise; something disappears to give a chance for another stage of the relationship because they are now on the same sexual level.

Now, since the cat has been let out of the bag, there is nothing to fear again. Their bodies are no longer hidden from each other. Nothing is sacred again. Nobody is afraid of anything except for the fear of Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Sex has taken place and has sealed that relationship because it is the final word and a leveler.

Then the man might feel he has gotten what he wants; might decide to be kind to her or dump her. Some rent apartments, send them to school or empower her with a skill as a form of compensation. Sex has joined them together because they have exchanged emotional and spiritual energy and therefore operate on the same sexual level.

Recall in 2010, when a northern governor married a 14 years old Egyptian virgin and that move sent shockwaves across the globe. Many wondered how a 14 years old virgin would attract a full grown man. Some called it child abuse, while others saw it as violation of human rights. But the senator won his girl and they are still together. One reason is sure that marriage and sex has brought them together as levelers. This is not about the age, but the level sex brings between a man and a woman.

There have been some prominent men who had crumbled like a park of cards because of sex. To the low ladies who served them sex, they can become boss ladies no matter how young. She could be emboldened to address the man, make demands from him as she likes because sex the leveler has taken place. A former chairman of a bank swam in murky waters while in a relationship with a lady. Sex leveled them together because they operated on the same sexual frequency. When such men come down low in sexual relationships, they swallow bitter pills from their victims. Insults that staff and colleagues would never give, would be an easy ride for the sex partner. Sex is a leveler and these are the dangers.

Interestingly, it is for the leveling spirit that comes with sex that most disciplined men desist from office romance. The moment a senior official begins to level up sexually with a staff member, most official rules and regulations would be broken to accommodate the lover girl.  Most of the female staff might not realize the difference between office and free world. The system would gradually be losing its stronghold until it collapses. Office romance is one of the easiest ways to destroy an organization.

A male colleague once asked a privately established oil and gas CEO how he handles female admirers being a ladies specification. His response was “I am aware of the dangers of office romance and that is a no go area for me, no matter the attraction. A fling could just crumble years of hard work. The moment your staff sees your nakedness, it reduces the respect for the office.”

Somewhere in the south-south, a strict notorious bank manager stood out like a sore finger. He was quite disciplined and smart. On the job, he was an expert and very diligent. He was highly respected for his unwavering principles. Most of the ladies felt he was a mini saint until he cornered Beatrice after she was transferred to another branch. From being ex-colleagues, a strong affair kicked off between the two.

On the said date, the moment sex happened; Beatrice asked him, “Is this the hidden apparatus that seems like gold.” Sex has eventually levelled them up. Both have seen each other’s nakedness and are leveled by sex. Initially the bank manager who was once a respected cash cow, that respect came down immediately. What sex can do to both men and women?

Maybe after the act, they might realize how low they have descended as they became sex levelers. Listen to the story of Tony, a supposed law graduate son of a High Court Judge. He flew in and saw his mother’s new domestic worker. He could not take his eyes off 17-years old Ime, the house help. It was a hide and seek game until he found his way and had sex with Ime. Unfortunately, Ime became pregnant and spilled the beans. It was such a shock to his parents. A supposed son of a judge got their house help pregnant. “Ime’s parents who were nowhere on the same status symbol insisted Tony must marry Ime. “We have a wedding to plan.” Tony made himself available and sex leveled him up with a domestic staff.   

In the same vein, women who also sleep with their husband’s apprentices, drivers and domestic staff; can never earn respect from the young boys. Those women who claim their men do not satisfy them in bed and therefore depend on the services of a younger relative are victims of sex leveler. Such a boy could make any demand because boldness has overcome him.

From the grapevine, the story was told of a brilliant lady Rose who worked with a blue chip company. Rose lived with her elder brother before he married Jane who moved in with her 14-year old son. Rose would always invite the young boy into the bathroom naked. With a consistent bathroom visit, she taught the boy things he should not know at his age until they were caught bathing together. A working class lady was sex-leveled with a young son.

It is the reason of sex that some parts of Eastern men who belong to the same age grades include their wives as their age mates in their age grade associations. Their women are also addressed as their age mates because they are now married to them and sex takes place between a member and his wife.

Dear Nigerians, sex will forever be a leveler and a humbler, except people respect themselves. Some sexual activities are celebrated while some bring embarrassment. An adult knows what an obscenity means because it has no definition, but one sees it, one recognizes it.

The pedophiles who live in the midst of people know that when they are apprehended, they would be embarrassed.  Big boss, you also know that when your sexual games with a cleaner are also discovered, you will be embarrassed. Likewise madam, you cannot go scot free when you get entangled with an apprentice, sales boy, and your husband’s friends. It will never be a happy day. The onus for pure discipline is on you, to ensure that sex does not ever level you.
