People with Disabilities (PWDs) are set to enjoy a 50 percent discount in their medical bills across public hospitals in Zamfara state.

This is following Governor Dauda Lawal’s approval to promote inclusion, ease the burden and enhance access to medical care by all PWDs in the state.

This was revealed by the state Commissioner for Health Dr. Nafisa Maradun, in Gusau.

She described the initiative as a significant milestone in the state government’s efforts to promote inclusive healthcare and provide social protection for vulnerable populations.

Dr Maradun said the decision reflects Governor Lawal’s strong commitment to ensuring equitable access to medical services for all residents, particularly those with special needs. We

The policy will greatly reduce the financial burden on persons with disabilities, enabling them to seek timely and quality healthcare without undue hardship, she said.

Zamfara State Ministry of Health, she said, will work closely with health institutions to ensure full implementation of the directive across the state.

She appealed to the beneficiaries to take advantage of the 50 percent discount to access essential medical services when needed.
