The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the presidential poll at the Government House Arts Theatre Polling Unit 001 located at the Protocol Unit of the Government House in Makurdi.
The APC garnered 125 votes to beat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which polled 124 votes with just one vote.
Meanwhile, the former governor and Senator representing Benue North West Senatorial District, George Akume of the APC lost at the polling unit after polling 115 votes to PDP’s Oker Jev who garnered 140 votes.
The Social Democratic party (SDP) got a few votes while some votes were declared invalid.
For the House of Representatives, PDP polls d 199 as against APC’s 109.
Our correspondent gathered that since the Democratic process started in Nigeria, this is the first time that a government in power would be winning at the government House Polling unit as the voters their are always fond of voting opposition.
