From Stanley Uzoaru, Owerri
The Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers has thrown its weight behind the new security arm of the Imo State government, the Imo Security Organisation (ISO), set up by Governor Hope Uzodinma.
Rising from an emergency meeting of the council on Tuesday held at Obi Ndi Eze, Owerri, the royal fathers particularly lauded the efforts and courage of the governor in establishing the outfit.
A communique signed by the 27 Local Government Area chairmen of the council of traditional rulers also noted that the outfit which is grassroots oriented has addressed the insecurity in the state to a large extent, restoring peace and security.
Similarly, the monarchs have passed a vote of confidence on governor Uzodinma for his remarkable achievements in the state mainly on his massive road construction.
“We are delighted with the quality of these and other critical road projects including the drainage system and the ambient streetlights across the state.
The communique also stated “That we commend His Excellency on his developmental strides instituted through his 3R mantra especially in the area of infrastructure with particular mention to the dualise Owerri/Umuahia road, through Mbaise.
“That in recognition of these laudable achievements and many more, we hereby pass a vote of confidence on our dear governor, His Excellency, senator Hope Uzodinma and his entire leadership and pledged to continue to support him in the discharge of this onerous task of rehabilitation, reconstruction and recovery that’s already repositioning our state.”
The royal fathers have equally urged the governor to ignore distractions and focus on bringing more dividends of democracy to the state.
