Imo to reward outstanding statesmen

Imo State Commissioner for information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba

From Stanley Uzoaru, Owerri

Imo State government is to reward statesmen who have distinguished themselves and impacted positively on citizens as part of measures to encourage productivity and job employment in the state.

Commissioner for Labour, Employment and Productivity, Ford Ozumba, who stated this, yesterday, said the event slated for Saturday would mark the maiden productivity and merit award ceremony inaugurated by Governor Hope Uzodimma.

He said the award would have three categories – platinum, diamond and Gold.

Ozumba said the essence and objective of the programme is to encourage citizens of the state to help in creating and spreading wealth through various job opportunities.

He recalled that since the creation of the state, there has never been an occasion where those who excelled both in the public or private sector were deliberately identified and publicly rewarded.
