Imo State LP chairman manhandled, bundled out collation centre

From Stanley Uzoaru, Owerri

There was a mild drama at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the early hours of Sunday as the Labour Party (LP) chairman, Callistus Ihejiagwa, was beaten black and blue before being bundled out of the State Collation centre.

Ihegiagwa, who is also the state agent for his party, was thrown out of the centre for his rejection of election results already announced.

His attackers suspected to be supporters of the ruling party did not waste time to descend on him when he openly rejected the results which so far has been in favour of the APC.

From the results collated so far by INEC, Governor Uzodinma is having a distant lead from 20 local governments announced.
