The Leadership of Imo state People’s Democratic Party (PDP),has congratulated its candidate for the Ideato federal constituency seat of Imo state, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere on his landslide victory in the National Assembly polls held on Saturday.
The party noted that the Ideato people have waited for so long to have this moment, and that they are aware that with Ikenga as a Federal Lawmaker, most of the socio-economic maladies that confront Nigeria will certainly be addressed through the instrumentality of the parliament.
In a statement issued by Mr Collins Opurozor ,Party’s publicity Secretary, the PDP commended the resilience of members of party in Ideato and the entire people of Ideato who withstood the intimidation and aggression of the state government throughout the campaign trail.
Statement which , “We commend the patience, courage, focus and resilience of PDP members in Ideato, Ikenga’s supporters and the entire people of Ideato, who despite the aggression and armed attacks, including killings and bombings, brought upon them by rampaging petty dictator in the State, they never yielded to fear. They stood strong and they worked to ensure that this victory came to fruition.
adding , “For us as Imo PDP, this victory represents the defeat of all the murderous forces from the hell which were let loose in order to truncate the aspirations of Ideato people for good governance, quality representation and a better life.
Through the celebrations that now sweep across Ideato, our Party can affirm that the victory of Ikenga has renewed the faith of Ideato people in a developed Ideato that brims with endless opportunities.
Imo PDP, therefore, rejoices with Ideato people and dedicates this victory to all the sons and daughters of Ideato who are determined to end the unacceptable failure of political leadership in the area. For our Party, the mission to liberate Ideato from ruinous misrepresentation has now begun”.
