A wave of new candidates unseated sitting lawmakers as the All Progressives Congress (APC) concluded its House of Representatives primaries across Imo State on Saturday.
The Option A4 voting system was used in all 10 federal constituencies. The results produced several first-time flagbearers, marking a shift in the state’s APC lineup ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In Okigwe South, Jonas Okeke defeated incumbent Miriam Odinaka Onuoha, while in Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala, Ngozi Pat-Ekeji won against Matthew Nwogu and Ahiazu/Ezinihitte was won by Chukwudi Anyanwuocha defeating Emeka Martins Chinedu .
Other News
Isu/Njaba/Nkwerre/Nwangele also saw a new winner as the former commissioner for agriculture, Cosmos Maduba unseated Harrison Anozie Nwadike.
Other constituencies also saw new entrants secure tickets as Sandra Inyama for Ideato North/South ,
Canice Moore Nwachukwu Omeogo for Orlu/Orsu/Oru East Uchenna Agasu for Okigwe North, Dibiagwu Eugene for Oguta/Ohaji-Egbema/Oru-West, Akarachi Amadi for Mbaike while Tochi Okere won for Owerri Federal Constituency.
