Barely fours days to the presidential and legislative polls, gunmen in Okigwe, Imo State, in the early hours of Tuesday set ablaze the country home of the state Commissioner for Youths and Sports Hon Emeka Okoronkwo, at Amagu Ihube community.
The gunmen also did not spare the country home of Prof Nnamdi Obiarareri, erstwhile commissioner for Information, youths and sports and Lands and Urban planning during the administrations of Ikedi Ohakim and Rochas Okorocha respectively
Also torched was the home Mr Emeka Ngwu, ex-Director, Department of State Services ( DSS), just as a relative of Ngwu, an old woman who was trapped by the inferno in the house died.
The Sports Commissioner, who confirmed the incident when contacted, said that his country home was set ablaze by gunmen.
The Imo State Police Command spokesperson, also confirming the incident, said that the police has opened an investigation.
