The governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the November 11 poll in Imo State, Uche Ben Odunzeh, has promised to subsidize education, if elected.
Odunzeh, in a statement, also said he would improve the state’s education sector and implement programmes that would give access to education to low income earners from the state.
“Our administration will subsidize education for imo citizens at all levels” he stated.
The governorship hopeful stated that the future of any state lies in the education of its citizens, and added that his administration would place emphasis on rebuilding public schools in the state.
According to him, educational tourism in Imo will be guaranteed as he intends to attract influx of foreigners into the state that will be coming to seek knowledge for growth and professional developments.
“Increasing the states internally generated revenue through educational tourism is one thing we are committed in doing and when that happens, they will be influx of foreigners who will want to come to imo to seek for their professional developments.
“This is where it becomes important that the state is seen as stable in terms of security and investment friendly”
“By rebuilding our public schools and subsidizing fees, our people will not struggle to acquire education and basically low income earners can access education,” he said.
