A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and governorship aspirant in Imo State, Chief Obioma Success Akagburuonye, has promised good governance and transformative development if elected into office.
Akagburuonye stated this while addressing political stakeholders from across Imo State at his Hope Rising Foundation secretariat in Owerri on Thursday.
Akagburuonye thanked Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his giant strides and achievements, especially his insistence on the charter of equity and promised to build on his legacies if elected.
The lawyer, who said he is a product of prayers and grace, stated that there is a hand of God in the emergence of Governor Uzodimma, who he described as a great man who defeated two incumbents to become governor.
He promised to take Imo to a higher level in the spirit of continuity, promising that if he doesn’t get the governorship ticket of APC, he would give his maximum support to any other candidate that gets it from the Owerri zone whose turn it is, going by the charter of equity, to produce the next governor.

Commending Akagburuonye, Uchenna Ewuribe, said he was deeply touched by the aspirant’s remarks, describing him as a very humble and amiable individual who came at the right time.
He commended Akagburuonye for his strong faith in God and assured him of the support of the Imo State political elites.
In his own submission, Chief Emma Buka Iwuanyanwu, a businessman and leader of the APC from Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, said Barr Akagburuonye is not a regular politician but rather a technocrat who Imo State needs at the moment.
He described Akagburuonye as a self-made man who knows exactly what he needs to do for the growth of Imo State, adding that his interest in the governorship was inspired by God who wants a competent successor to continue and also improve on the legacies of Gov Uzodimma.
