The state commissioner for Lands, Physical Planning and Survey ,Hon Enyinna Onuegbu has said that the state government will soon revoke all unutilized plots of lands at the Owerri Industrial Layout along the Owerri/ Onitsha road.

He disclosed that such plots will be re- allocated to real industrialists who would utilized them for the purpose it was allocated, and create employment for the teeming Youths of the state and improve the welfare .

Onuegbu who stated this represented at the Gold in Real Conference held yesterday in Owerri, Imo state capital, on Thursday themed ‘ Stop Competing , Start Collaborating.

He disclosed that the state government is interested in improving the industrial and agricultural sector and that it is reviewing the allocations at the industrial layout, noting that it is worrisome situation where the state government allocated plots of lands for industrial uses and over 40 years ago that those lands have not been used for the purposes it was allocated for.

” The government is interested in improving the industrial and agricultural sector .We are reviewing the allocations with a view to bring who will develop the state for employment of our teeming Youths for sustainability and improvement of welfare. A situation where the government allocated plots of Lands for industrial uses 40 years . Till today they have not been developed leaves a sour taste in the mouth. So, government will review that and allocate to these lands to those who are actually industrialists .

He added, ” Under this administration, governor Hope Uzodimma has institutionalized a system where the land information service is completely computerized to prevent cases of duplicity of titles , forgery , land grabbing and the unauthorized access to people’s properties and records in the ministry of lands. We have also introduced new charges for services done by the ministry for land allocations,change of purpose ,land acquisition to ensure that the government earns revenues for the work done by the ministry . Again , our certificate of occupancy issued by the government cannot be forged.”

Onuegbu therefore called on Igbos in Lagos who are seeking for land to establish industries to come to Imo state that the state has more land to allocate for such purposes.

Earlier ,Mr Nnamdi Ume, the convener of the conference said that the vision for the 2- Day conference was born create a common platform for synergy and collaboration for developers , Financiers, professionals , investors and policymakers.

According to him , ” The gold in real estate conference was designed to be a platform, a bridge between ideas and interest , between purpose and profit between ambition and achievement .
