Crisis may be looming ahead of the Imo People’s Democratic Party, Imo East senatorial primaries (Owerri) zone, as one of the prominent aspirants for the senatorial seat, Hon Greg Egu has said that he will not accept the chicanery witnessed during the Aboh Mbaise/ Ngor Okpala federal constituency primaries held at Umuneke Ngor, headquarters for the federal constituency on Sunday .

Egu, who represented the Aboh Mbaise/ Ngor Okpala federal constituency between 1999/ 2003 , and a founding member of the PDP warned that he will not accept an imposition of any candidate as was the situation for the Federal Constituency of Aboh Mbaise/ Ngor Okpala where primaries was never held and somebody was announced.

He said that Sen Samuel Anyanwu who wants to be the governorship candidate cannot impose anybody from Mbaitoli/ Ikeduru federal constituency where he comes from as the senatorial candidate for Imo East when he knows it is the turn of the Ngor Okpala political bloc to produce the senatorial candidate for Imo East (Owerri) zone .

Addressing, a press conference at his country home in Umuohiagu community in Ngor Okpala on yesterday, the senatorial Aspirant noted that party said it is going to be by consensus but that till now he does not what is the modality.

“I am running against Prince Eze Madumere and one other young man who I don’t know. They said that it is going to be on consensus. I have campaigned before all the stakeholders in the party. SamDaddy ( Senator Samuel Anyanwu) will have to be careful what he does at this primaries. I have seen all the leaders that counts in the entire Owerri zone because it is the turn of the Ngor Okpala political bloc to produce the next senator for the Owerri zone.”
