Crisis is looming in Egbuoma community in Oguta council area of Imo state as the community has declared both the Monarch of the community , His Highness Eze Anugbuomba Okorie Ogbuehi and the Traditional Prime of the community, Onuoha of Egbuoma , ‘ Missing ‘ and that the entire community is in the dark of their where about in the last three years.
This is as the community said that the first son of the Eze as traditional of the people demands cannot act as a regent if his father has not been confirmed dead, and warned that the community will not accept decisions of the purported meetings by illegally constituted Traditional council .
The community said that the current situation is hampering the activities of the town union as decisions on developmental matters in the community could not be taken as a result of the Monarch absence.
This was contained in an open letter to Governor Hope Uzodimma and signed by the President- General , Linus Chinyerenwa DSP(rtd) and Secretary – General , Mr Ikenna Nduka of Egbuoma community.
It reads In part: ” It is imperative to bring to your notice that the Traditional Ruler of Egbuoma community in Oguta council area of Imo, in the person His Royal Highness Eze Anugbuomba Okorie Ogbuehie is no where to be found. No only that, the Traditional Prime Minister, Oluoha of Egbuoma community is No where to be found nor seen in any where in the past three years and no explanation has been given for their disappearance “.
Continuing, “It is instructive to bring to your attention your Excellency that the Traditional Council continues to operate without the legally recognised officials of the Traditional Council especially the Traditional Ruler of the community that has the Traditional staff of office and the Traditional Prime Minister, the Oluoha of Egbuoma.
It is a well known tradition that the first son, Prince can not function as a regent until his father is confirmed dead and he cannot also act while his father has not been confirmed dead. We request that the Eze Egbuoma, His Royal Highness Anugbuomba Okorie Ogbuehi to address the Egbuoma people even if from his sick bed .
It is pertinent to equally bring to your notice that the activities of the illegal traditional council does not conform with the customs and traditions of Egbuoma people , we vehemently reject such obnoxious and illegal activities at the palace “.
