The Imo State House of Assembly’s Environment Committee has lauded AgriFutures Farm for its large-scale livestock operations and job creation efforts in the state.

During an inspection visit, yesterday, the committee members noted the farm’s well-organised setup but suggested improvements in waste management.

Chairman, Hon. Innocent Ikpamezie, who led the committee on the visit,  commended the farm owner for the vision and investment, saying it employs many locals and reduces unemployment.

He said, “We came here based on a petition, but from what we have seen, the farm is well-coordinated. What is required is proper evacuation of waste products,” Ikpamezie stated.

He further praised the farm owner for the vision behind the establishment, noting the significant financial investment involved and its role in employing many Imo indigenes.

“I must say that the person who owns this farm means well for Ndi Imo. People are gainfully employed here, thereby reducing unemployment in the state,” he added.

The committee urged the management to prioritise worker safety, sanitation, and eco-friendly practices.

AgriFutures Farm’s General Manager, Sir Chiduziem Uneze, thanked the committee and disclosed the farm’s poultry production capacity of over 150,000 birds.
